FollowOps stores everything locally in your browser. It collects nothing, transmits nothing, and tracks nothing.
What FollowOps stores, and where
All of your data — follow-ups, contacts, properties, categories, notes, checklists, and settings — is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB and the Chrome extension storage API. It never leaves your device. There is no backend server, no account system, no sync, no analytics, and no telemetry of any kind.
Page access
FollowOps reads a page's title, URL, and selected text only at the moment you deliberately capture a follow-up from that page — via the toolbar button, the right-click menu item, or the keyboard shortcut. That information is saved locally with your follow-up and used for nothing else. FollowOps has no ability to read pages in the background: it requests no host permissions and registers no content scripts.
Notifications
Reminder notifications are optional and off by default. If you enable them, they are generated locally by your browser from the due dates you set.
Third parties
FollowOps sends no data to third parties, because it sends no data anywhere. It loads no remote code, fonts, or assets at runtime.
Your data stays yours
- Export everything at any time as a JSON file from Settings.
- Delete everything at any time by removing the extension or clearing its site data.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date. Given the local-only design, meaningful changes are unlikely.
